Everyone’s a politician, full of love and ammunition. Everybody wants to know how much you care. Everybody wants distraction. Everybody wants some action. Everybody wants to be a millionaire. Untie the apron from your waist and wipe the tears from your face. You knew this day would come. Everybody wants affection. Everybody wants to know they’re going in the right direction. And when they get to where they’re going to, they’ll turn around and say hey, hey, it’s been nice knowing you. It’s been so long since you’ve been gone. Do you know what’s going on? I’d like to think you do. I’d like to think you’re on a cloud and looking down. I’d like to think you laugh at what I find profound but you probably got to where you were going to, turned around and thought hey, hey, it’s been nice knowing you.

Come & Go 03:04
All this come and go. Don’t make it easy on me, oh no. He’s afraid of roller coasters. She’s searching for the holy ghost. And on a moment’s notice, all crazy making, out of line, one thing comes into focus and it’s this sloppy heart of mine. So don’t you worry, honey cuz everything’s just fine. All this come and go. Don’t make it easy on me. He’s afraid of missing boats. She wants him to miss her most. And on a moment’s notice, flip the switch and change the track now. Everything goes out of focus. Oh wait, I think it’s coming back. Or is it lost forever? Or is it now or never? How can we save the data, destroy the program later? All this come and go. Don’t make it easy on me. He’s searching for his hopes and dreams in the centerfolds of magazines. She’s crying at the late night news while trying on her fancy shoes. There’s just too many to choose.

Tell me you love me. Tell me it’s true. Tell me you love me because I know that you do. The real thing, it can kill you and you’re dying just to say how much you love me and you want me to stay. But I’ve got to move on. I’ve got to make a difference in this situation. If I save the world, if I win the prize, I would do it all for your sake. Everything’s at stake unless you… tell me that you love me. Tell me you want to take me to the prom. Kiss my check when you take me home. If words can’t hurt you, the opposite is true. Tell me you love me or my heart might break in two. Gasp!

Good Baptism 04:20
Draw the water. Pour the wine. I’ll light the candle for the second time. Kneel and pray. Shed your skin. We’re next in line for a good baptism. Door wide open. Cat creeps in and then he disappears except for his grin. The water’s fine. Why don’t you come take a swim? There’s nothing like a good baptism. Stars, they rose between the eaves. They were as bright as angels and as thick as thieves. The water’s hot. Cuts like a knife. Best to endure it now then in the afterlife.

Sadie 03:10
She’s scared to death of heights and so she climbs the highest skyrise that she can find and then she waits to be discovered. Oh, how we wait to be discovered. The man in the window, he takes off his shirt. He’s worked so hard. He wants to be a king, buy himself a brand new car and make out in all the scenes he dreamed about when he still dreamed. Oh oh oh! Well, I brought you some balloons and I dressed up like a clown. I wanted to see you laugh again at watching me while I pretend I’m on the verge of falling down. Sadie, come back through the door. Mama said you made a mess. There’s no more candy for you anymore. Don’t want to see you go but I confess, don’t want to see you being so depressed now. Tonight, I brought you some balloons and I dressed up like a clown. I wanted to see you laugh again at watching me while I pretend I’m on the verge of falling down. Sadie, come back through the door.
